The online card game of Pai Gow Poker is played with a 53 card deck consisting of a standard 52 card deck as well as a joker. In this online version of Pai Gow poker the banker or house as it is sometimes known, always plays as the dealer and covers all bets meaning that the player will compete against the dealer only. The player will receive seven cards which must then be split into two poker hands; a five card hand and a two card hand. Once the cards are split the player's two hands are compared with the dealer's two hands so that a winner can be determined.

The banker will then pay the winner subtracting a 5% commission and the game will come to an end. The commission is 5% of the bet and is rounded up to the next quarter. An example of this is a minimum bet of $6 would equal a commission of 50cents as 5% of $6= 30 cents but as the commission gets rounded to the next 25 cents it would make 50 cents. 5% of $11= 55 cents making the total commission equal 75 cents.)
