Whether you're playing in real life or online blackjack's objective is always the same, to be the first player to come as close to 21 without going over whilst maintaining a higher card than the dealer. Before receiving their cards the player must place a wager. After the wager has been made then the player will be dealt two cards face up whilst the dealer will deal themselves two cards. If the total value of the player's cards come closer to 21 than the dealer than the player will now win as much as he wagered. The player will also win if the dealer goes over 21. The dealer will win if their cards are closer to 21 than the player's or if the player goes over 21.
